LEMOINE and JB Mouton Partner with the College of Engineering and the Engineering and Technology Management Department to Support New Construction Management Concentration
Thu, 08/14/2025 - 2:46pmThe University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s College of Engineering has announced a new industry partnership with LEMOINE and JB Mouton to support its Construction Management concentration within the B.S. in Engineering & Technology Management program, which includes an embedded business minor.
At the center of the collaboration is the Construction Management Innovation (CMI) Hub—an Engineering Center of Excellence designed to blend technology, industry expertise, and hands-on learning. The CMI Hub will feature high-tech labs simulating modern job sites, provide opportunities for industry-recognized credentials, and connect students with career resources and an industry advisory council.
“We developed this concentration with a clear purpose: to respond directly to the needs of Louisiana’s construction industry,” said Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Dean of the College of Engineering. “This partnership with two major construction companies bridges the gap between education and industry, creating a direct pathway from the classroom to the jobsite.”
A key element is the Structured Engineering Apprenticeship Pathway, offering students multi-year, real-world experience alongside their coursework. The partnership aims to prepare graduates to step directly into leadership roles in Louisiana’s growing construction industry.
The CMI Hub will welcome its first student cohort in Fall 2025.
